How to proceed

You can either download the complete file containing all the texts to translate (see links below), work on it off-line, and send it back to us, or edit the data on the website using the provided user name and password.

It's important to keep in mind that a lot of texts are rarely displayed so it's no need to translate everything. Translation files are ordered from the most important texts to the less important ones, so you can stop whenever you want, just let us know when you've done.

Translation guidelines

  • Have a look at the general Android Writing Style guideline;
  • Be careful that some texts are displayed within bounded spaces, try to keep the translation text no longer than the English version if possible;
  • Priority should be put on most displayed texts. Not everything is displayed to the user (some texts are only displayed in case of errors or very particular cases), they can be left apart and translated only if everything else is done. It's better to have all most important texts translated than the first half of the file;
  • It's better to locate where texts are displayed to check the context and get a better idea of the meaning. Usually, texts are correctly named according to the feature, so are quite easy to locate;
  • You can request a preview build at any time containing the last translation state;
  • Take your time, nothing hurry.
