I have just downloaded this app in order to plan bicycling routes, then go out and ride them using this app on my phone. Nearly ready to get a refund and forget this.
Instructions seem not to match what I see. to set up a route, i'm to see Landmarks. My unit says placemarks. After setting waypoints, they are not connected along roadways, but discrete marks. Instructions say when done to tap close and save. I do not see that button anywhere. Creating a route to follow should not be rocket science. I need to see bullet instructions that work exactly to generate a route. Then bullet instructions that say how to start the route on my phone so I can follow it. I don't doubt this app can do a route, but I'm looking at this electronic method as a tool, not a hobby. Please help if you can

creating a route for cycling
Re: creating a route for cycling
still monkeying around to create a usable route to cycle. NOT trying to ride paved highways and roads, but significant dirt roads. Auto route cannot usually find those even though they are visible, and insists on paved roads, making this app useless. Paper maps are good for paved roads. Tried using the cycling hiking map, it is no better....unless I'm missing something big here....?

Re: creating a route for cycling
Hi and sorry for the troubles. Don't hesitate to request a refund if you're not fully satisfied.
If you want to manually create a route (enter points in order, that will be connected with lines), it's here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... ute-create
To manually draw a path (like with a pen): it's here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... ack-create
For auto-routing, see here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... to-routing
The auto-routing only depends on the web-service you use, not on the displayed map. In the auto-routing tool, you can click on the setting icon (wheel) and select the "Graphhopper" routing service which should perform better for dirt road and cycling or foot mode.
Then you can follow the route or path, see here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... ollow-path
As you've noticed, some pages have been made with an older version so some terms or icons may differ.
Hope it helps
