Hi and thanks for the program.
I would like to make a proposal of one of 4pda_ru users (Danius, Lithuanian translator of AQ). The bottom line is like this....
He is a surveyor and uses AlpineQuest for his job. Sometimes he needs to make picture waypoints with bearing
You can read the discussion starting from this post, but the main discussion is here. In a couple of words.... He wants to have coordinates and bearing on the pictiure (picture waypoint)
A kind of this https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... evelcamera
Is it real?

Re: Picture waypoint question
Hi Alex,
The next version will save and display the heading of picture wayoints (if compass is turned on at creation time).
This is already available in version 2.0.7e currently in beta.
Please note that this is not as complete as the application you shown, and it's not intended to be.
Best regards

Re: Picture waypoint question
Here are some details on how to use this:
- turn on the compass in the app, and be sure it's calibrated (turn your device in the air if not);
- create a picture waypoint, and after taking the picture (before pressing the "Ok" button of the name window) be sure that your device points the direction you wan to save. Put only 1 picture per waypoint.
- then the direction is displayed on the map (on higher detail levels), and in the details window.
Please note that the information (coordinates and orientation) is not saved within the picture, but in the waypoint file (as the picture is taken by the device Camera application). In order to save this information inside the picture, you need an Camera application doing geo-tagging.
