Compass view target direction

I'm a new uk user and still trying to get to grips with offline maps+.
When using the compass I'm unable to get the green arrow which shows the direction of the target and it doesn't show the target finder either (as shown on navigation help page).
I've set targets but presume I'm doing something wrong? Anyone help? Does this function depend on the type of map you're using?

Hi and thanks for your support.
Under the compass view, do you have any information on the target (name, distance, direction)? If not, it means that no target has been set.
To set a target, move the map center over one location, click on the center icon and select 'Target center'.
You can also click on any displayed waypoint, select its name and select 'Target'.

That's better. Was expecting to see the compass with direction finder against the map window. Didn't realise I had to select compass details.

compass is numbered backwards...how come

Hi patski,
You can click on the setting icon (top right) of the compass screen and check 'Moving graduations' to get the number in the other order.
