[fixed] tracking "on" but track not recorded

It seems that the new version of AlpineQuest solved the problem. I did not look into the logs, but the tracker behaves as expected, that is it is recording from the start until it is turned off within the application. It looks that even if there are some crashes (I did not check it), the tracker manages to restart without problems.

That's a great news, I hope it will be alright now.
You can quickly check if the tracker crashed based on the number of recorded segments (displayed juste after the number of recorded locations in the tracker panel). At each start, or restart, a new segment is started.
