I'm wanting to set up map on pc. Have downloaded apk file (lite) but can't open - which is the best software to do this - running w7. I get the feeling this question has been asked before - but couldn't find in "search" facility. Cheers

				Hi,
AlpineQuest is an application for Android OS devices, it won't work on Windows OS. You need to open the APK file with an android device (phone, tablet, netbooks, ...).
If you only need to create maps using your PC, everything is explained
in this page. You can create maps using your PC, and display the maps on your Android device using AlpineQuest.
Best regards

				Hi again,
No problem.
So to create your maps you must use Mobile Atlas Creator.
Best regards

Thanks for the information. It's all becoming clearer and have successfully imported maps to HTC. Next question. Is it possible to obtain Ordnance Survey as a map source? Cheers.

				Hi,
This version of MOBAC still supports it:
http://www.alpinequest.net/res/.
(you have to zoom in the OS source to get topo maps).
Moreover it's also possible to find Ordonance Survey offline maps in .qct format (Memory-Map) which can be opened by AlpineQuest.
Best regards
