Offline Maps landmarks to Google Earth

Post by Helena »

Hello,
I have been working with All In One Offline Maps (the paid version), and I collected several landmarks (waypoints) that i now need to visualize in Google Earth. I transferred the Offline Maps folder "landmarks" to my computer, where the landmarks are, with the extention .wpt. The problem is Google Earth does not read .wpt files, and I have been trying to convert them to .kml using several online converters (most of them of OziExplorer), but with no success. Google Earth does not read my converted .kml files for some reason. Could anyone help me with this situation? Is there any way i can read the Offline Maps waypoints in Google Earth in my computer?
Thank you in advance to anyone that replies.

Hi and thanks for your support and interest in our application.

The application uses a particular format to store the waypoints and other landmarks, which won't be recognized by any other application.
So you'll first need to export them if you want to open them in Google Earth.
Just long-press a waypoint and select "Export as...". For Google Earth, you can use the KML, KMZ or GPX formats. The exported waypoints will be saved in the sub-folder "landmarks/Exported landmarks".

In order not to do this for each waypoints, you can first group them in a set:
- Click on the waypoints category icon (left of the "Waypoints" title);
- Select "Copy";
- Click on the "Clipboard" item in the bottom menu (2nd from the right);
- Select "Paste here".

A new "Set of waypoints" will be created (displayed after your waypoints), which you'll be able to export in the same way.

Let me know if you have any issue
Best regards

Hi,
Just to let you know and thank you - This is THE trick many Alpinequest/Earth beginners must need.
You saved my life (here and often while walking on the paths ;=).

Thanks for the feedback,
I'll try to make this option more clear and easy to find in the next version.
Best regards
