[closed] British Ordinance Survey grid reference
When put geolocation settings to osgb it is not giving the correct grid reference for my location nor in the correct format of sheet and then the coordinates.

Re: British Ordinance Survey grid reference
Hi,
Thanks for posting your feedbacks here.
I just made a check and the OSGB coordinates seems correct to me.
Here is what I get for the London Tower Bridge: TQ 33674 E 80266 N.
Let me know about what you get/would expect to get.
Best regards

I am currently stood at SJ 7745 9676 but you app says I am at 377479E 396777 N. This is not a grid ref nor is the figure you have given. I am a member of a mountain rescue team and I would be able to find your location on an os map!

Re: British Ordinance Survey grid reference
Just noticed you did give a sheet number but your app doesn't. I'm using a motorola defy I don't know if this has any bearing.
Thanks kat

Re: British Ordinance Survey grid reference
Hi,
OK I think I get it.
You might have set the coordinates format to 'OSGB (Figures)', which gives the all figures OS grid version.
You need to set it to 'OSGB (Letters)' to get what you need. Main squares are referenced by letters, and figures are relative to their squares.
Let me know if it's all right then,
Best regards

Now get a sheet but not the right one!
Your app gives my location as SJ 76749 95451 but I am at SE 2687 0175 from an os map (Oxspring but your grid ref is somewhere in Davyhulme!)

Re: British Ordinance Survey grid reference
Hi,
I have searched "Oxspring" using the application search function, moved the map to the result and the displayed OS coordinate is:
SE 26967 E 02071 N, which seems to be correct and match what you said.
Note that the location printed at the top of the map if the center screen coordinate, not your real GPS location. To get it, you need to lock the center of the map on your GPS location (see the geolocation sub-menu).
If you think there is really a problem, could you send me both WGS84 and OSREF coordinates of a same point by changing the coordinate setting from AlpineQuest preferences.
Best regards

Re: British Ordinance Survey grid reference
Grid ref right this am. I obviously was not doing it right last night - did have a cracking migraine at the time.
Many thanks
