Route planning with waypoints

Post by Timmymajic46 »

Hi guys
I'm after some help I just bought this app and i intend to use it for navigating a jet ski race, I'm struggling however how to make a route using waypoints can anyone help me? Where do I start? The races will have 4 or 5 buoys which I need to find in the race so I want to put them in and create a route to find them. Is this possible with this app?

Hi and thanks for your support,
You can either enter points: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... te_a_route
Or draw a path: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... raw_a_path
Let me know how you need to enter your point (from a map, by coord, etc.) for more details.

Thankyou for the reply, I will be given the coordinates before each race so I needto add coordinates rather than draw on the map.

In both tools above, you have a magnifier icon (bottom/right, in the tool title bar) where you can enter your coordinates.
Other than that you can enter coordinates like this: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... oordinates

Ok thankyou you are a great help im starting to understand it now, so I made a route by tapping on the map and adding waypoints then I went on each one and edited the waypoint to the coordinates that I needed. Then once I had finished I saved it and then it showed me the map with the route,is that it? Do I just follow it now? Can I just have the page as an arrow to the way I need to go? Also how close to each waypoint would I need to get before it changes to the next waypoint?

Hi again,
If you know the coordinates in advance, just enter them directly, not need to first create a random point then edit its coordinates.
See my previous message how to enter coordinates.
Then follow the route as explained here where you can choose the distance for next point: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... ollow-path
And slide down the map with two fingers to enter the explorer mode where you'll have an arrow showing your next point.

Ah ok I think I’ve cracked it now thankyou, one more thing how do I get rid of the blue line that’s constantly on the screen going all over the place? It’s a blue line with arrows in it?

For the blue line, stop the track recorder, see here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... the_record

It’s not a path it’s a blue line that just seems to change direction on its on it’s a straight line with arrows in it just pointing straight off the screen, if you turn the screen it flicks round and goes other ways, I can’t seem to remove it.
