[closed] Maps not merging

Post by mhurley »

Hi, I've downloaded v1.8 alpha 16 of Map Creator
I'm creating an OS map of 4 layers.
When I click on "create atlas" it creates 4 separate files. I was expecting just one large file consisting of the four layers

Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks
Matt

Hi,
MOBAC v1.8 only supports AQM v1 maps.
You can open v1 maps with newest version of AlpineQuest, but if you want multi-layers in one file as you describe (i.e. v2 format) you'll need to use the MOBAC 1.7.2.AQM available here : http://www.alpinequest.net/res/.

AQM v2 map support should be soon available in an official version of MOBAC.
Thanks for your interest in AlpineQuest
Regards

If i run that one I get a "null point exception error"
I'm going round in circles here.

Hi,
There is a bug, I'll make a fix.
Until then you can create maps whithout activating the custom tile processing in the map creator.
Thanks for the bug report.

In the Maps Explorer (Menu -> Maps ), select the default map and then look at your map item.
Do you see something like "Multimap UK OS Maps, 4 levels" ?
If your map contains levels, you should see this, and then you can change the level using the + and - buttons at the bottom of the canvas screen.

What a prat I am : I wasn't using the "+" to zoom just the slider so it was only zooming on the current layer
Thanks for being patient with me
Problem solved!

No problem, I'm happy it's now OK for you.
I don't know if you have seen it, but "Multimap UK OS Maps" level 16 is different from lower levels and is a topo map.

The only problem i discovered today on a hike is the GPS is way too inaccurate, never mind , that's a hardware issue not a software one :-)
