In the "Maps explorer", long-press the map you want to clear the data, and select "Clear data".

Just came here with the same problem, would be useful to have "store area" in the menu and give the option of switch to online map when selected rather than nothing on the menu

Yes you're right, like a message asking if the user would like to browse available online maps...
