Slightly odd waypoint icon.

Post by geofactotem »

This discovery only came about as a result of the new icon sort as I was not interested in this imported waypoint whilst using the set.

The first image is an imported picture waypoint named VS622 - image shows the detail of the waypoint

This image shows the waypoint within the set and also on the map. The expected icon has been replaced by a camera.

Here is a created sound waypoint which behaves as expected both in the set and on the map

I would add that that this is a very small sample of I suspect very seldom used waypoint types. I do, I think have some imported picture waypoints that behave as expected. Having said that I think that any created picture waypoints behave as above.

Finally I see this as firmly in the strange behaviour category and not a bug that needs attention and there are certainly other things I would like given a higher ranking.

Hi David,
I've checked this and you're right, the icon display in the list in not correct.
The expected behavior is like on the map, the icon is found like this:
1. If there is an icon specified, use it;
2. If there is a picture associated to the waypoint, use a camera icon;
3. If there is an audio clip associated to the waypoint, use a speaker icon;
4. If the waypoint belongs to a set that has an icon specified, use this icon;
5. If a color is specified, use a colored dot;
6. Display a default color dot.

In the list, this order is used instead: 2. 1. 4. 5. 6.
This is not correct, I'll fix this.

Thanks for your report.

Thanks for doing that, I suspect it has been lurking there for years. I meant to mention that I hoped you noticed the splendid icon you designed for me and its function.
