IGN France maps are now free

I think that he want to say "free" but in the data limit of a private personnal key.
It's true that an easier way to use a private key for different Géoportail maps should be great in AlpineQuest.
Currently, it's possible but it's a pain for most of users ...

There is a difference between free and open.
In a way, visualizing IGN topo maps is free, because you can do this without paying a fee on geoportail.
However it's not open, any other usage is restricted.

The Swiss topo however, has just decided to open all its data (including its high quality topo maps) (source). This is a very good news.
But unfortunately it's not the case for France (note that recently, some data has been open, but it's mostly useless data for casual users).
