Alex, here are the sizes:
By default:
map.canvas.radius_ruler.width_dp=1.1
map.canvas.radius_ruler.text_size_dp=11.0

Small: ×1.0
Medium: ×1.2
Big: ×1.5

But please try to compromise. Main settings must be ok for MOST people. If one or two users need a special case, they must use a user settings, it's not possible to make regular settings for every special case. The application must be flexible, but people must also accommodate to what they have and what all other users need.

Sam: I'll see but now, I really need to work on other features.

Hello Dev,

Yes, thanks for this great works, but i'm sorry to have to report you a small display "bug" …
Look at these screenshots : with small size, the SE item is shown but with medium and big size, it's hidden maybe because of the position of the circle distance value or for any other reason.
Is it a wanted behaviour ?

Not dramatic but not perfect … If it's possible to fix it before you start new feature ? ;)

In Explorer mode the 4-th ring value does not display properly.
Do you think it's OK to display distance values on the rings on the opposite side of the existing values?

Hi!
Do I understand you right?

Small corresponds to:
map.canvas.radius_ruler.width_dp=1.1
map.canvas.radius_ruler.text_size_dp=11.0

Medium is x1.2 and corresponds to:
map.canvas.radius_ruler.width_dp=1.32
map.canvas.radius_ruler.text_size_dp=13.2

Big is x1.5 and corresponds to:
map.canvas.radius_ruler.width_dp=1.65
map.canvas.radius_ruler.text_size_dp=16.5

If it is so, the small, medium, big in Circular scale settings does not fit these user settings values.
Medium in settings is smaller than "Medium" (x1.2) in user settings :
map.canvas.radius_ruler.width_dp=1.32
map.canvas.radius_ruler.text_size_dp=13.2
The same is for Big and "Big"

Be sure to select "Small" in the regular settings.
Otherwise if you select "Medium" (x1.2), you'll have:
map.canvas.radius_ruler.width_dp=1.32 x 1.2
map.canvas.radius_ruler.text_size_dp=13.2 x 1.2

Thanks! Now it's OK. I (or we) will test it with various values.

I would like to propose the 4th size – Very big with at lest ×1.8 or even ×1.9
I think that the following is quite OK:
Small: ×1.0
Medium: ×1.2
Big: ×1.5
In some time it may be clear if these values are good for most users and devices. Anyway it can always be changed in the update.
As to me (my device is 5."7 Samsung Galaxy Note 4) Small: ×1.0 is very small. Maybe it's not bad to make small a little bit bigger. It takes time to test it more.

Small X1.0 looks more or less good on my device, it very much depends on the type of a map.

Hi again,
I've published a new version, currently in beta but I hope it will become the new official release if everything is good.

Based on your feedback I've increased the sizes:
"Big" now use factor x1.8 for lines and x1.5 for texts.
"Medium" now use factor x1.4 for lines and x1.25 for texts.
"Small" still use factor x1.0 for both.

I really would like to consider this feature as finished now.

Hello,
After some times using the circular ruler i would appreciate to have possibility to display the infos options (Distance, NSEO, NE SE … etc) on one of any choosen circle (1,2,3,4) instead the first one.
Regards,
Sam

Hi again,
I've added this user setting that will be in the next beta:

Code: Select all

map.canvas.radius_ruler.main_circle=1
that allows the user to specify which is the main circle where all informations are displayed (bearing ticks, cardinals, north arrow).

Thank you,
It will be very useful to keep the center of the screen/map more clean/visible. :)

Great. I close this topic.
Circular scale is available from AQ 2.2.2.
