[closed] Is there a way to slow, the auto rotation

Post by Bebeman »

Newbie here....when using the software, the map is constantly rotating both cw and ccw...so much so, that it makes it unusable. I have a clear GPS line of site...it does this even when standing still.

Hi,
There are different ways to rotate the map:
- Using the magnetic sensor (usually fast rotation, even if not moving);
- Using the GPS chip (you need to physically move to get rotations);
- No rotation (both turned off).

It seems you have the magnetic sensor based rotation activated. You can turn it off from the Orientation submenu: see here http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/1.4/orientation (use button 5).

You can also tweak both rotation refresh rates using the GPS update rate or the compass update rate (see previous link). The help page of the Geolocation is here: http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/1.4/geolocation.

Hope it will help.
Best regards
