[closed] Just refresh the tiles in a certain area

Post by jidanni »

Load lots of openstreetmap in preparation for a trip. Now notice that one little place is missing. Grandma's coffee shop . Nobody put it on Open street maps yet. Okay go to the openstreetmaps website and put it on the map. The problem is how are we going to now get it into the app? We have to wait three months before we can refresh? Or must we throw away the entire layer just to refresh that one point? Therefore wouldn't it be great to have a method that temporarily gets new tiles for the area we are moving our finger around on until we turn it back off. That way before we leave our house we can just move the map around our new spot and refresh those tiles!

Maps menu -> Displayed maps -> long press your OSM map -> Force update local data.
Move around, everything displayed is updated.

But this function does not override "use only local storage" in the maps menu, right?

As far as I remember if you check "use only local storage" then no data is downloaded (either new data or updated data).
